Jisoo (Blackpink) receives unprecedented treatment from Dior Asia's global ambassador

Jisoo (Blackpink) receives special treatment in the high-end fashion industry, worthy of the title "Dior princess".

Dior, the French luxury fashion house founded by Christian Dior, owes part of its global prestige to its international brand ambassadors. These individuals — models, singers, actors, and celebrities from around the world — not only embody the brand’s image but also help convey powerful messages to the public.

As part of a groundbreaking strategy to conquer the Asian market in 2021, K-pop idol Jisoo of Blackpink was chosen to become Dior's first dual global ambassador (fashion and beauty) from Asia.

Jisoo’s role as a luxury fashion ambassador has not only had a direct impact on Dior’s visibility and sales but, alongside her Blackpink bandmates, has paved the way for Korean artists to gain recognition from global luxury brands.

Following Blackpink’s success in high fashion — with Jennie as Chanel's ambassador, Rosé representing Saint Laurent and Tiffany & Co. globally, Lisa as global ambassador for Celine and Bulgari, and Jisoo for Dior and Cartier — numerous Korean stars have since landed representation deals with major labels.

While Jennie is known as the “Human Chanel,” Jisoo has earned the title “Dior Princess.” In just three years of working with the French house, she has played a crucial role in amplifying Asian representation at international fashion weeks.

Notably, although Dior has appointed many Asian ambassadors — including Jimin (BTS), Haerin (NewJeans), Dilraba Dilmurat, and Mile & Apo, among others — and dozens from South Korea alone, Jisoo continues to receive special treatment from the brand.

Most recently, during the final Born Pink concert in Seoul, Jisoo stunned audiences by wearing Cartier jewelry paired with a custom-made Dior outfit for her solo performance.

After the show, Dior’s official account revealed that the outfit was personally designed for Jisoo by Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior’s creative director for womenswear.

The luxurious ensemble featured a tulle ball gown skirt paired with a strapless crop top, adorned with delicate floral motifs — a design of refined elegance.

To date, Jisoo is the first global ambassador to wear a personalized design by Maria Grazia Chiuri — a gesture that reflects Dior’s exceptional appreciation.

This special recognition is well justified, as reports show that Jisoo contributed to an astounding 256% growth in global sales for Christian Dior among luxury fashion houses.
